What is Driver CPC?
From 10th September 2008, all new and existing PCV drivers now require a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC). The purpose of the Driver CPC is to improve the knowledge and skills of Bus and Coach Drivers and to continue this training throughout their career. Any new driver after 10/09/2008 will have to undertake the "New Initial Qualification" whereas existing drivers will have acquired "Grandfather Rights" so will require periodic training.

What is the New Initial Qualification(Drivers after 10/09/08)?
The New Initial Qualification is split into four modules;
- Multiple Choice Questions and Hazard Perception Clips
- Case Studies
- Practical Test
- Driver CPC Practical Test
What is Periodic Training?
Periodic training is continuing professional development for Bus and Coach drivers. It carries on throughout the professional drivers career. Driver CPC requires you to complete a minimum of 35 hours periodic training during every 5 year cycle for as long as you wish to continue driving professionally.
